Exciting news for fans of the old MK games:

Burbank, Calif. – May 12, 2011 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection for PlayStation®Network, Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC. For the first time ever, the original Mortal Kombat arcade trilogy – Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – have been brought together into a single collection which will be available for download in late summer 2011.
An arcade-perfect port, the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection brings players their favorite Mortal Kombat arcade classics for $9.99 on PlayStation Network or 800 Microsoft Points, to put it in arcade terms – 40 quarters ($10).

Surprisingly this Kollection will also come out on PC, any new info we get will be posted in this newspost, here’s hoping it comes out on Steam and other major digital distributors.
Below you can find screenshots of the select screens of the 3 games:

I already have MK1 that came with Deception (Xbox), MK2 and MK3 Midway Treasures (Xbox), and I downloaded MK2 on PSN already. Those are all emulations, with crappy shadows and some sound glitches. They don’t have the pretty borders these screens show, but I hope that isn’t the only difference.

In short, are these more refined ports? Like, arcade PERFECT…what every fan that’s been playing since 1992 has dreamed of? Or are they extremely redundant for anyone who owns the ones I do?
