Another of the most voted requests in the recent poll was to add more background props, I’ve gone ahead of it and made a really cool feature for UMK3 arenas, the idea was given to me by ]{0MBAT and it is accomplished using jQuery.Parallax, the idea of it is to view arenas just as they do in the game, with various layers that have distinct properties according to mouse movement, check them out:

In addition to the parallax presentation, I’ve added all props used in them separately for each Arena.
I want to thank WeaponTheory, ]{0MBAT, AceKombat and whoever sent me “Mortal Kombat, Sprite Box v0.2″ (I forgot who it was, sorry!) for providing content and feedback to make this possible, I’ll continue making these for the other 2D games.

    oh wow, this looks so cool! I really like this and you did a great job on the cave, desert, and waterfront. for hell, just move the furthest skull pillar row down a little. for the blue portal, can you make the bridge and mountain separate layers? they move at the same speed at the moment :P

    oh I almost forgot, I’m hoping on the hell stage, the buig skull on the left can move the same speed as the floor. otherwise, everything is perfect! keep up the good work!

    On Portal the mountains and bridge move at the same speed in the game, plus they’re in the same layer in the game, if I move them to separate layers they may behave inconsistenly.

    I looked at the portal again on umk3 MAME. the bridge and the mountains don’t move at the same horizontal speed, but they move at the same vertical speed, along with the portal itself. I haven’t looked in MKT or home ports of umk3 yet, so that’s why I made the earlier suggestion about the blue portal.

    Seeing the stage move like that with my mouse is trippy, hahaha. I didn’t know what parallax mean, but when I accidentally hovered over the arena and it moved, I was shocked wondering what black magic is this?!

    Uh oh, I just noticed something that’s not added. So you didn’t get my Temple, Soul Chamber and Graveyard sets?
    Jade’s Desert could not had possibly be the only thing I gave to you.

  11. Impressive! Fun to see this site being updated too, I like this updated look. It’s worthwhile to update stuff sometimes. Was this all… or is there more coming? ;-)

    I looked at the Waterfront parallax again and noticed the water scrolls backwards compared to all the other layers. I’m don’t know all the details about this, but I also don’t think this happens in MAME. if you do change it, can you please just make it scroll at a speed between the floor and the wall in the background? thanks in advance
