Well it's been a while since the last update, but that's just cause I've been dead busy with tons of stuff, anyway here's a little something:

As you can see, it's not 100% complete, but still, thanks to WeaponLord for yet another great addition to the site. Shang Tsung fans should be happy by now since MKW now holds the spritesheets of his three appearences in the arcade MK games. [See MK1, MKII] Also I got some good news for ya, my summer vacation starts in two weeks, so I'll have plenty of time to update the site then.

Hey there, here are some screenshots I took while playing Unchained yesterday:

I was thinking I could beat the game with every character, and take screenshots of the bios and endings, cause they look pretty cool, specially the endings, despite the pics are small. Also, I got a new spritesheet to upload, expect to see it in a next update!

As you may probably know, today's my birthday (technically it was yesterday but who cares anyway) and to celebrate I've updated with the bios, movelists and endings for the 'new' characters in the recently released Mortal Kombat: Unchained for the PSP:

Well it's been a while since the last update, I gotta say I've been crazy busy lately, and I've spent all my free time playing on my recently acquired PSP, anyway here it goes: The Arenas section of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is complete! To your knowledge there are 33 arenas on the game, 4 of them are from MK: Deception, 14 of them are from the Konquest mode, and these are the rest of them:

Below each classic arena you'll see a link to see the old-school look of that arena. I haven't noticed that so many of them are based on older arenas, heh. Also over the MKA section, I uploaded some versus cutouts, I don't remember for which character but they were like 12, I remember one of them was Noob, who has two versus screens. Anyway, I do know which versus poses are missing and they are: Scorpion's alt, Reptile, Stryker, Kung Lao, Li Mei, Frost, Sindel, Sheeva, Havik and both Kreate-A-Fighter (male and female). And finally we've got a sprite update, because remember we're a site mainly about sprites, heh. MKW Staff Member Maggo has completed Baraka's spritesheet, it now includes all the sprites from MKII and MKT, including his running sprites and special body parts sprites (remember that MKT sprites are smaller):

That will do for now, I hope to have a small update during next week, but with all that's happening during that time (the Wii and the PS3 launching, and my birthday [hint: it's between both consoles launches] and Unchained coming out) I can't say for sure I'll have the time. One last thing about Unchained, as you may have figured I'm indeed getting the game, and with that I'll get screenshots, which means I'll get bios and endings from the "new" characters, stay tuned for that and more sprites. [Update 1:] In case you've been living below a rock or something, Ed Boon announced the so awaited bios for MKA last monday on Fight Night, expect to see those on this site along with some info about Mortal Kombat Ocho.

At last! MKW becomes the first site on the net to have all special moves and endings for Mortal Kombat: Armageddon! Make no mistake, I'm not rubbing it in the face of fellow MK fansites' webmasters, but it's just that every time a new MK game came out I took like weeks and even months to start updating with content about the game. But this time is different, only 5 days after I got the game the section of it is full of information, this is certainly a direct attack to procrastination's weak point for massive damage. Within each character pages you'll find: a cut out images, special moves movelist, an alternate costume picture* and the text & video of the character's ending (video ripped by ]{0MBAT, text done by me). Without further ado, select your fighter!

I'm still kinda dissapointed at the fact that the game has no bios, but as you probably know there is a slight probability that the MK Team will release bios online, I'm looking forward to that, I bet it will happen. Also, yesterday Sub-Zero posted a full finisher list on his MySpace page, and I've copied it here separated in two pages: Normal Character Finisher List and Boss Finisher list. But that's not all! There's more to come still, including 34 arena renders and the Death Trap Theater, stay tuned! (*) The characters without an alternate costume are: Mokap, Chameleon, Daegon, Onaga, Moloch, Meat, and Blaze.

As I stated in the past update, MKW's staff member ]{0MBAT had been capturing the endings of MKA into videos for the site, and I've uploaded 20 of them, to be more exact the endings are of the first two rows of characters of the select screen, and all of these 20 characters have an alternate costume picture and movelists, here are the links to their pages:

You can either read the endings or download a video in WMV format so you can watch the characters dance do their kata while their ending is displayed. Remember that these endings are related by Taven's father, Argus, and take note that Chameleon does not have an alternate costume. I've also uploaded one Motor Kombat picture I was missing from two updates ago:

Let me know if there are any mistakes on the movelists, or typos on the endings by commenting to this post, requests for kontent will also be taken into consideration.

A quick update, I've got pics of the alternate costumes I've unlocked so far and captured them, also I started to write down special moves, and ]{0MBAT is getting all the endings for the game. The following characters have movelists and/or alternate costumes within their respective pages:

Let this be the first of the many Armageddon updates that will begin to flood the site. I've just got the game and I'm really enjoying it, but not only that, I've started captured stuff from the Krypt, which is really great. So far I haven't unlocked much stuff, but I'll leave you with these four Motor Kombat renders:

As the title reads, The End is finally here! And I'm not talking about that boss from MGS3, or the end of the world or anything along those lines, as you may all know by know: Mortal Kombat: Armageddon has finally started shipping! And we've got a nice update to commemorate this day, first of all, more versus cutouts:

Hotaru's versus cutout was ripped by MortalKombat2007 and the other six were ripped by MrSchpfmut from the MKO forumsm, thanks guys! Also, from the last update: Kano's spritesheet is one step closer to full completion as the punching sprites have just been uploaded! Once again thanks to Weaponlord for these sprites. That will do for now, I expect to update with movelists and more MKA related stuff soon enough, for now, let a new chapter in MK history begin!

Only 3 days for Armageddon, and another update is here! This time, my pal Weaponlord submitted an almost complete spritesheet of Kano from MK3:

The first two on the left were cut-out by MortalKombat2007, and the ten other were ripped by Skinsley, these skilled guys are from the Mortal Kombat Online forums and have been ripping these for some time and now they're available here for your viewing pleasure. The next installment of the Mortal Kombat series comes out in less than a week, and you can feed your hype right here, cause I've just opened the characters section for the game, currently it only contains Cut-Out Pictures, as the official MKA site updated with the rest of the 62 renders of the games, I ripped them out and put it on each character's page, and some characters not only have that but also a Cut-Out Versus Pose, ripped by Goroliath! There are still more spritesheets to come, but don't expect them to arrive during this week, I'm really busy with college and stuff. Anyway, about this week's spritesheet, if you wonder how this spritesheet was ripped, the answer is: not from the game itself, but by color swapping Scorpion's spritesheet (although black is not a color), making this spritesheet look exactly like Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat Trilogy, where he's not enterely black like in UMK3. At last but not least, expect a big MKA update on the site, we're getting the game's section ready as we continue to get closer to the release date of the game, stay around.

Following the last update on the official MKA site, I decided to update with the renders of both the Prison and Reptile's Lair arenas. And along with that is the best part of this update, I opened a new section containing all the renders for the 30 characters that are currently available on the official site, the special thing about these pics is that they have a transparent background, which makes them perfect for digital art, sigs, comics and stuff, without further ado here's the new Cut Out Renders section! Also, MKW is in need of a graphics guy, anyone with l33t Photoshop skills please comment on this post, among the things this guy (or girl) will have to do is some PS2 and X-Box buttons along with cutting out the versus pictures of MKA that have been floating around. PS: Why aren't you watching the ">opening movie for MKA?

Yeah, I know it's been a LONG time since the last update, and even more since the last spritesheet was updated, but it's just that I haven't got a spritesheet to update with in the first time, Maggo is still ripping MKT Noob Saibot, and MKR is still cropping down some old spritesheets for MKII. Anyway I found something among the old and unfinished updates archive and uploaded it: Kontent submitted by WeaponX

Although the spritesheet is like 85% completed it still works for now, and if you're wondering why it took me so long to update with it it's cause (the spritesheet) was on BMP format. Finally, we've got a new affiliatte, Fuzzd0rk's Mortal Kombat: For the next update we'll have another spritesheet, this one will be within this week, but if anyone knows where to get an automatic sprite cropper the update would come up like right now. [Update 1: Nightmaric has submitted Sheeva's normal punching and kicking sprites, they're now available on the sprites page.]

It's been a while since I wanted to update some of the themes of the site, specially the MKA one, since the logo got renewed and got its colors changed. The Wasteland theme only got its banner renewed with the lastest Wastelands render from the official MKA site, it replaced that old Wasteland concept art from MK:SM. And the big change happened on the Armageddon theme, which got totally revamped applying the new theme of colors of the lastest logo, it also uses the recetly made MKA font I made on the logo, and in my honest opinion I think it's way better than the previous grey-ish appearence.

This ends a series of maintance updates I've been working on, sprites updates shall come back soon!

Today I'm proud to present to you the un-official Mortal Kombat Armageddon font! It has been a while since I worked on a font, but this one came up pretty quick, most of the letters were extracted from the official site for MKA, except for the J, Q, W, X and Z. The rest of the fonts I've made (and some others I haven't) are available in the Fonts section. As a note: the letters used in the official logo are a little bit wider than this one, but it's barely noticeable. Anyway, without further ado, here it is!

There are two spritesheets available, one in form of individual sprites on the sprites page submitted via e-mail by Fernando Aguirre, and the other is ready to download in form of a PNG file, this last one was submitted by Acid and it's different from the other one because its sprites have been resized to match the size of the sprites ripped from arcade games. Hope you enjoy both spritesheets!

Today's a really special day, because today we celebrate this site's 4th birthday! That's right, it has been 4 years since I started with this page, back there it was hosted on a free domain service, with a very basic layout and with no more than 200 sprites in total. Today, 4 years later, MKW holds thousands of sprites, backgrounds, props and images from all the MK games released to date, not to mention the popular Fatality Theater, with more than 250 videos spread all over the site, all of this combined have made of MKW the best MK database and picture vault you can find in the entire web. And of course, a site's success is not only because of his webmaster, but also because of its visitors and contributors. That's why I want to thank all of those who have visited the site, all the sprite rippers who take a lot of their time to extract the content that makes this site possible. Of course I'd also like to thank the staff, namely ]{0MBAT and Maggo, both of them have contributed with most of this site's content. And I cannot forget our mother site, Mortal Kombat Online, which has us hosted as part as their network. The list goes on and on, I'd also take this chance to add AceKombat to our little Credits and Special Thanks section, if it wasn't because of him and his cheats, most of the spritesheets we've uploaded lately wouldn't be complete, he's a strong part of all the people that work behind the scenes. And now, as a gift to the site itself, I've finally finished the section I've been talking about in the recent updates, it's an idea I've had for a lot of time, which consists in having a full index of the site's context, because along the years the site has become really big and maybe a little rough for users to browse, that's why I've made a complete Sitemap of the site, currently showing the most important contents we have about each game, and indicates clearly the characters that have a complete spritesheet in its correspondent page, within the time, this Sitemap shall contain more detailed information about each one of all the pages of the site. Note that this Sitemap is accesible by clickng "Choose Your Destiny" on the navigation menu. Also, today I took some time to fix some bugs and add some minor content, like Noob Saibot's secret UMK3 Ending and the New Select Screen for MKArmageddon. The wait is over and hell has frozen over, I'm now officially launching MKW's Fatality Theater for Mortal Kombat Deception! This section includes every Fatality (48 in total) and every Hara-Kiri (25 in total), plus 14 Death Traps Videos from the game, which makes 78 videos in total! Each video is in WMV format, resolution of 640—480 pixels with a high quality and with a size no bigger than 2 MBs! Check out each character’s finishers by clicking in its image:

I don't have to give any credit or thank anyone because I ripped all these videos myself! However, I should apologize for not having the section earlier, but you all now I'm kinda lazy. :P The launch of this Fatality Theater not only means a victory over procastination, but it also means that MKW now holds videos for almost every Mortal Kombat finisher! Only UMK3, MK3 Smoke, MK:D Shao Kahn and Goro remain, and they should be up really soon. Let me know by commenting in this update if you find any errors or some file missing.

I wanted to point out that there are only 7 MKII characters who still don't have a complete spritesheet, this means there are 10 that do, which means we have more than the half of the sprites for Mortal Kombat II! Have you seen the kickass Mortal Kombat Armageddon wallpaper? Judging by how Rain looks I retract from my previous "Rain sucks" statement. Anyway, this isn't about Rain, it's about:

Thanks to Daniel Wandin for those Raiden Animations, MKII props, MKII Cage sprites and Shao Kahn spritesheet were ripped by Maggo, MK1 Cage's shadow kick sprite was ripped by ]{0MBAT and finally, that weird secret prop from The Portal was ripped by the cheat master AceKombat. Upcoming updates will contain Goro sprites from MKT, MKII Smoke and UMK3 Scorpion sprites, I will now try to focus on finishing up uncomplete sections, (like MKM) and also update MKO's Games Section. PS: I'll have this space to answer some questions I've seen in previous comments: Q: When are the projectiles being posted? A: Projectiles are temporary in each game props' page, when I've got the spritesheet for a character I include his/her projectiles in the spritesheet, although I've forgot to do this in recent spritesheet, it will get fixed. Q: Are you gonna have MKMythologies sprites? Are you gonna have sounds in your site? A: I don't know if the site will feature MKM sprites, same thing with Sounds. Q: Where do you get all these awesome sprites? A: We take screenshots from MAME while playing the game, pro sprite rippers use cheats to remove the background layer and get a clean sprite that they after put in a png/gif file with transparent background (alpha layer). Q: Why do sprites show up with a white/pink background? A: That's because you're browsing the site with Internet Explorer, which actually sucks because it doesn't understand the transparent layer for PNGs, you can either switch to Firefox or wait for IE7 to be released. Q: Did you have a good vacation? A: Hell yeah, I even went to the Infernet :P Q: Hey, can you get -insert character name here- sprites now? A: No. I mean, yeah, but not now, sprite rippers rip sprites in their own order, obviously the most popular character get ripped first.
